Communiques:

I was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and as a 12 year old, my parents along with 6 siblings moved to Calgary. My parents knew Alberta to be the land of ‘Milk and Honey’ and with pride I still carry that attitude today! I married in 1972 and was blessed with our first son in 1975. Our second son arrived in 1978. In 1980 we moved from Calgary to the hamlet of Carseland where we raised our sons and were very involved with our community. As the story goes, where our sons were so were we. As empty nesters in 1999 we decided to moved to Strathmore, where we reside today.

We were then blessed with 2 granddaughters. Life again became very busy until 2004 when they moved to Ontario. Once more the house became very quiet and we were empty nesters again.

Volunteering has always been a focus in my life and with our family grown, I looked for something to fill my time. I decided to become a CWL member in 2002 and accepted the position of President in 2004.

It was at my first convention in 2004 that I knew I would love the League and love doing God’s work with my hands. The CWL has allowed me to grow spiritually while meeting and keeping company with many great ladies. With more than 20 years experience as a business owner and book keeper, I knew I could accept the position of treasurer with confidence.

Along with volunteering in the CWL, I continue to operate my latest business, DJ’s Long Arm Quilting and Binding Service. I still act as Girl Friday and Chief Gopher for my husband’s New Home Cleaning business. I am excited about my position and I look forward to learning my duties and hopefully fulfilling my commitment to the CWL.

Yes – GOD is GOOD – All the TIME!!
